2016 Calendars

We still have a few copies left of our two beautiful traditional Catholic wall calendars for 2016.  The first is black and white and contains full liturgical rubrics for every day of the year, making it easy to know not only what feastday it is, but also what the commemorations are at Mass and what colour vestments the priest will be wearing.  Days of fast are marked and instructions are provided on the rules of fast and other important things every Catholic should know.  Our liturgical calendar is $10.95 with free shipping.

Our second calendar is full-colour on glossy card stock, and features images of the cathedrals of Europe.  It contains the feastday for every day of the year, together with very clear color markings for holydays of obligatio and days of fast, making it a quick and easy reference to know what your duties are on any given day.  National holidays for the United States are also included.  Our colour calendar is $14.95 with free shipping.

Both calendars are available at Confraternity Books, the online bookstore of the Guild of St. Peter ad Vincula.

Prayer of Restoration

To be Recited Daily

Let us pray.

Almighty and Everlasting God, * we beseech thee to restore unto this world of sin * that faith which St. Peter thy first Pope and Prince of the Apostles * did once humbly confess; * and commit once more, * through thine infinite mercy, * the government of thy Church * unto a worthy Vicar of thy Son; * that he may be bestowed with such increase of all virtues * as may be pleasing in thy sight; * and that being so adorned, * he may lift from the Church and from all nations * the heavy weight of heresy * that presseth down upon us; * and rendering Christendom once more acceptable in thy sight, * may bring at length all nations * to render due homage at the feet of their divine King, * even Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, * who liveth and reigneth with thee, * in the unity of the Holy Ghost, * ever one God, * world without end. * Amen.

(V.  The Lord be with you.
R.
  And with thy spirit.)

Let us Pray.

Almighty and everlasting God, whose judgments are righteous, and counsels unsearchable, who dost visit the iniquities of the parents upon the children, even unto the third and fourth generation, and yet at length rememberest mercy: Forgive, we beseech thee, the sins of our forefathers, and turn away thy wrath from their posterity; deliver the ignorant from being seduced by false teachers, and the learned from being abused by their passions, and the whole of Christendom from the spirit of contradiction, licentiousness, and discord; that instead of the many divisions and changes in religion under which they labour, they may again be restored to that unity of mind, steadfastness of faith, and tranquillity of conscience, which is nowhere to be sought but in the communion of thy Church, nor possible to be found but by the conduct of thy grace.

O eternal God, who in this great deluge of heresy, which wholly overfloweth, and almost covereth the face of this land and of all nations, hast vouchsafed to select a small number for thyself, and save them in thy Holy Ark from the common inundation; we praise and glorify thine infinite goodness, by which alone we enjoy the comfort of a firm and settled belief, free from the inconstancy of them, that, having no support but their own fancies, float up and down awhile, and sink at last into the gulf of infidelity.  Make us sensible, O Lord, of these thine unspeakable blessings, that as we know thee by a sure faith, we may love thee with a perfect charity; and fixing all our hopes on the joys of a future life, patiently suffer what thou permittest here, and still press on to what thou promisest hereafter.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord, and only Saviour.  R.  Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who upon blessed Peter, thine Apostle, didst bestow the pontifical power of binding and loosing, and dist give unto him the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, grant that his intercession may ensure our deliverance from the bondage of sin, breaking asunder the chains and fetters with which we find ourselves so sorely laden.  Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.  R.  Amen.

A Prayer in the Time of Persecution

O my Lord Jesu Christ, * true God and true Man, / who sufferedst an ignominious death on the Cross for my redemption; / I humbly offer up to thee / my soul, / my body, / my life, / my goods, / and all my fortunes, / to be wholly disposed of / according to thy most blessed will; / and if it be thy holy pleasure / that I should lose my life or fortunes / for the profession of thy holy Name / and the Catholic Religion, / O Lord, I humbly and freely submit thereunto, / beseeching thee of thine infinite goodness and mercy, / and by the merits of thy most bitter death and passion, / that thou wilt be pleased to forgive me all my sins; / give me strength and patience to overcome all temptations and adversities; / pardon all mine enemies and persecutors, / and all the injuries they have done me in thought, word, or deed, / and make us all partakers of thy heavenly kingdom.  Amen.

Guild Prayers of Restoration

V.  Vouchsafe, O Lord, a faithful holy Pontiff.
R.  And hear us in the day that we shall call upon Thee.

Let us pray.

Almighty and Everlasting God, / we beseech thee to restore unto this world of sin / that faith which St. Peter thy first Pope and Prince of the Apostles / did once humbly confess; / and commit once more, / through thine infinite mercy, / the government of thy Church / unto a worthy Vicar of thy Son; / that he may be bestowed with such increase of all virtues / as may be pleasing in thy sight; / and  that being so adorned, / he may lift from the Church and from all nations / the heavy weight of heresy that presseth down upon us; / and rendering Christendom once more acceptable in thy sight, / may bring at length all nations to render due homage at the feet of their divine King, / even Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, / who liveth and reigneth with thee, / in the unity of the Holy Ghost, / ever one God, / world without end.  / Amen.

We most humbly entreat thee, O Lord, that thy boundless goodness may grant us a bishop to the most holy Roman Church, one who shall ever be both pleasing to thee by his loving zeal in our regard, and by his beneficent rule, deeply revered by thy people unto the glory of thy Name.  Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

O God, our refuge and our strength, look down in mercy upon thy people who cry unto thee; and by the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary Mother of God, of St. Joseph her spouse, of thy blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the saints; do thou mercifully and graciously hear our prayers for the conversion of sinners and for the freedom and exaltation of our holy Mother the Church.  Through Jesus Christ thy Son, our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.  Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen.
